- A beautifully presented glazed haberdashery shop counter of smaller proportion, England circa 1940.
- Glass top and sides over a flight of eight graduated oak fronted drawers and with original brass handles, ideal for a bedroom, hallway or living room environment.
- Well-made custom joinery of the time, the counter supported by a solid frame structure which houses all of the eight drawers and a plinth base to the bottom section, dovetail construction to each drawer and a beautiful thin frame to house all of the glass.
- The drawers are well worn with somewhat of a golden patina, there are the usual marks, scratches and the odd chip from years of use in a shop display setting.  The glass is all beautiful, one tiny blemish to a corner which cant be seen under the wood and seal, please also note this is a heavy and delicate piece of furniture.
- Height 92cm, Width 122cm, Depth 59cm.

Haberdashery cabinets were designed for a retail environment, efficiency was key, and thus featured beautiful window-fronted drawers. Retailers would have easily been able to see what’s within each drawer, and swiftly retrieve the item customers wanted. Unlike other traditional sets of drawers, classic haberdashery drawers have a unique appearance, they are often crafted from solid, high quality woods, and are durable, strong pieces of furniture designed to stand the test of time.

All items on the John Zoffa website are vintage antique pieces and by their very nature, imperfect. When you purchase a piece from us, you are buying something with character and more often than not years of use.  Before making your purchase please have an understanding that the pieces you are buying have had a life and ownership before your acquaintance. Therefore there will be elements of wear & tear or even damage that we believe add a quality, aesthetic and sheer presence that just can’t be replicated or indeed replaced.  We always invite you to view the item or alternatively ask any questions you may have before making the purchase.

Refunds will only be granted when an item has a significant misdescription or an area of damage, not noted by us, which is more than just natural ageing.  Returns must be made within 7 days of receipt of goods and received by us in the same condition as it left our premises.  The cost of return is not refundable and we strongly advise you look into the necessary insurance in order to avoid the chance of damage whilst under the responsibility of your chosen courier.

In the event your item is damaged during shipping and after leaving our premises we ask that you notify us immediately with photographs of the packaging, and of the item itself. The shipping company is ultimately responsible to reimburse you for any damage that occurs during delivery and we will work alongside you in order to resolve this should it occur.
