Mek-Elek Founded in 1931 Mek-Elek Engineering Ltd specialised in the manufacture of high intensity industrial lighting equipment, the Mekelite industrial lighting units were available in a wide range of types and sizes for floor, bench, wall and ceiling. Mek-Elek specialised in the manufacture of the Mekelite lathe light, primarily for use within the aircraft industry.  The joints of the arms give a complete 360° movement and protect the cab-tyre cable from being nipped when the arms are moved. A swivelling head which protects the lampholder from accidents and blows also relieves it from mechanical stresses. A design icon and true classic when it comes to early industrial lighting.

All items on the John Zoffa website are vintage antique pieces and by their very nature, imperfect. When you purchase a piece from us, you are buying something with character and more often than not years of use.  Before making your purchase please have an understanding that the pieces you are buying have had a life and ownership before your acquaintance. Therefore there will be elements of wear & tear or even damage that we believe add a quality, aesthetic and sheer presence that just can’t be replicated or indeed replaced.  We always invite you to view the item or alternatively ask any questions you may have before making the purchase.

Refunds will only be granted when an item has a significant misdescription or an area of damage, not noted by us, which is more than just natural ageing.  Returns must be made within 7 days of receipt of goods and received by us in the same condition as it left our premises.  The cost of return is not refundable and we strongly advise you look into the necessary insurance in order to avoid the chance of damage whilst under the responsibility of your chosen courier.

In the event your item is damaged during shipping and after leaving our premises we ask that you notify us immediately with photographs of the packaging, and of the item itself. The shipping company is ultimately responsible to reimburse you for any damage that occurs during delivery and we will work alongside you in order to resolve this should it occur.
